Westerby Investment Management host seminars as markets face volatility

May 3, 2018

The Directors and Advisers of Westerby Investment Management are delighted to be hosting their 6th biannual investment seminar for their clients and professional connections.

Colin Hopewell of Westerby Investment Management will provide an insight into the Top 10 Tax Planning Tips covering use of tax and investment allowances, inheritance tax and pension planning.

Guest Speakers Emma Longstaff and Natalie Biggin of Josiah Hincks Solicitors will discuss Wills and Powers of Attorney and Alex Antonius, Chief Investment Consultant at Tatton Investment will provide an analysis of the world markets with predications for the next 6 months.

Given recent stock market volatility and predictions for rising interest rates the seminar is timely.

Westerby Group Managing Director Steve Harvey, said: “Trump’s trade wars, uncertainty over Brexit and volatility in the stock market means expectations for investors should be tempered, with the days of cheap borrowing coming to an end. Planning for the future is advisable with strong tail winds and some head winds forecast on the horizon.”

Investors and those facing retirement, are invited to attend the seminars at Leicester’s Y Theatre on Wednesday 16 May and in London at the Institute of Directors (IOD), 118 Pall Mall on Thursday 17 May.

Attendees at the Leicester seminar will be welcomed with breakfast at 10.00am with presentations from 10.30am to 12:00pm. In London, coffee and tea will be served from 11.00am with presentations from 11.30pm to 1.00pm, followed by light refreshments.

Steve Harvey, said: “This seminar will be of interest to individuals who are looking to manage their investments, those facing retirement, or who need inheritance tax guidance on the best way to provide financial security for their beneficiaries. With uncertainty facing global markets, it’s best to be prepared and insulated for any potential shocks to the system.”
